Our Story

Current farming arrangements range from cash rent to providing complete farm management of that acre.  When providing farm management as a a service, Barnard Farms is responsible for the sale of all crops, payment of real estate taxes and disbursement of earning to land owners.  We have existing arrangements with local farm management firms, land brokers, and private equity businesses.  As resources we use Farm Direction, The Ag Resource Company, Sander Strategic Management, Pro Farmer, FBFM and Advance Trading for current information and strategic planning.  We participate in continuing education classes to keep up to date with the newest technology and agronomic practices.  Barnard Farms proudly relies on Brandt Consolidated for agronomic information and all production inputs.

Started in 1944,  Barnard Farms has grown to be a cutting edge and proven Family Farm located in Central Illinois.  Four generations have worked on the Central Illinois Farm.  Over 90 years of on-farm experience provides the backbone for sound agronomic, marketing and financial decisions.  Matt and Brett both graduated from the University of Illinois where they majored in Agriculture Fiance and Agriculture Education.  Ted received his BS in Agriculture from Illinois State University in 1970.   Both Matt and Brett have significant corporate experience with many of the top agriculture companies in the world.  Our family believe in being active members of our communities, volunteering whenever we can.
